Police: Fake utility worker asking people to leave home

There's a warning out about a man who may be trying to steal from people in Bucks County.

Bensalem police say the man was driving a pickup truck, with a New Jersey registration, and acting like a utility worker.

It happened in the area of Glen Ashton Farms, off Bensalem Boulevard.

Police say he asked people to leave their homes while he cuts trees on their properties.

According to police, "We believe that this male is using this excuse to get residents to vacate their homes so that he can steal from the residence."

They say to call 911 immediately if it happens to you.

Also, they're reminding everyone that legitimate utility workers will have proper credentials, and are required to provide them when asked.

Police do say no actual burglaries have been reported.
