Police fatally shoot man accused of killing 2 at home in Chester: DA
CHESTER - Police in Chester shot and killed a man who they say stabbed a woman to death and fatally shot a man on Wednesday morning.
What we know:
Officers from the Chester Police Department were called to a residence on the 900 block of Barclay Street just after midnight.
Prosecutors say a 911 caller reported that a man armed with a knife and a gun was trying to harm people inside the residence.
Police found the suspect stabbing a woman inside the residence and shot the man after he ignored the officer's commands to stop.
The man and the woman were both pronounced dead inside the home, according to prosecutors.
Police soon learned that the suspect had shot and killed another man inside the home just before police were called.
What we don't know:
Authorities have not identified the suspect or the victims as of this writing.
Investigators have not said what may have lead to the deadly incident.

"I am incredibly sad about this tragic night that destroyed a family, traumatized a neighborhood, and shaken our entire community," City of Chester Mayor Stefan Roots said.
Roots thanked police for responding "swiftly and decisively to prevent further harm and attend to the victims."
