Police: Gunman fires 28 shots at SUV, causing crash in West Philly
WEST PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Police are investigating after a gunman opened fire on a family's SUV, causing it to crash at 66th and Upland in West Philadelphia.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
According to police, the woman driver sped off to avoid the gunfire and crashed into a parked vehicle.
Numerous bullets entered the vehicle, but miraculously no one was struck. The vehicle had at least seven bullet holes. Police say the 28-year-old woman, 37-year-old man and 2-year-old are expected to be OK.
It was reported that a green Buick fled the scene. Police say they spotted a Buick in the area of 70th and Cobbs Creek Parkway before it crashed in Yeadon, Pa. Police made one apprehension. That person is being questioned at this time.
