Police: Home Invaders Held Woman at Gun Point While Children Slept

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police are investigating a violent home invasion after they say a woman heard a noise in her basement and discovered three masked men in her home.

The incident occurred around 1:13 a.m. Friday morning on the 2800 block of Shipley Road in Pennypack.

Police say three men burst into home and put towel over the 33 year old woman's head.

One of the suspects held a gun to her head, as they told her not to move or else they would shoot.

Authorities say two children, ages 2 and 10, were also inside the home at the time of the break-in, but were sleeping, and unaware of the incident.

The suspects also tied a dog to a pole during the break in.

$800 in cash was taken as suspects fled the home.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Police are searching for the suspects .
