Police: Homeowner shoots, kills 3 men who broke into his home
HOUSTON (AP) - Police in Houston say three people were shot and killed during an early-morning home invasion east of downtown.
Authorities say a preliminary investigation appears to show that an armed resident of the home defended himself by firing on at least four suspects who stormed the residence early Saturday.
Police found the body of one suspect outside in front of the home. Another suspect who fled collapsed nearby and died. Authorities say the body of a third suspect was found in a vehicle that fled the scene.
At least one other suspect also was shot and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The resident of the home was not injured.
It's not clear why the suspects targeted the home and police did not release any additional information.
