Police investigate hit-and-run in West Philly

Philadelphia police are investigating a brutal hit-and-run in West Philadelphia last week. They have now released surveillance video that shows a car hitting a transgender person.

The hit-and-run was captured on the security camera at a small grocery store. It shows a dark colored van pulling up to the intersection of Wyalusing and North 56th.

The video then shows the van backing up as a passenger gets out and bolts forward running down the victim--a transgender female identifying as a male--standing at the corner.

Exclusive video obtained by FOX 29 shows a second angle of the incident.

Police say there was talk between the victim and the passengers before the victim was hit. The van raced off, but not before striking the victim again, according to investigators.

Police are looking for the man who got out of the van. Police describe him as a man in his early 20's who was wearing a red shirt.
