Police investigate string of gunpoint robberies in Fairmount
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police say they are investigating four gunpoint robberies that happened within 3 days of one another in the city's Fairmount section.
"I stay off my cell phone. I look around. I'll cross the street if I see something suspicious I walk away," Fairmount resident Dave Moser told FOX 29 Thursday.
According to police, it started Sunday night at 8 p.m. with an on street robbery at 22nd and Brown St. 40 minutes later, police believe the same gunman struck again at 2500 Poplar St.
"I definitely told my wife and kid about it. They're not going out past dark," Moser said.
The robbery in the 800 block of North 27th Street happened Tuesday night, just 11 minutes after a similar gunpoint robbery just two blocks away.
Police are searching the area for surveillance video to help them identify the suspect. They do believe the same guy committed all four stick-ups. So far, no one's been hurt.
