Police investigate suspicious fire in Northeast Philly; Teen injured

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are investigating after a suspicious fire sent one teenager to the hospital in Northeast Philadelphia.

Officials believe the fire was intentionally set.

Firefighters responded to the 1300 block of Ruan Street Friday night just after 11:30 p.m.

A 17-year-old was transported to St. Christopher's Hospital for smoke inhalation as fire crews tackled the flames. The hospitalized teen is expected to be okay.

The fire was under control by 1 a.m.

This is an ongoing investigation.
