Police investigating man found stabbed to death in burned Whitpain home as homicide

A man found dead in a burned Whitpain home was stabbed to death. Police are now ruling his death a homicide and the fire arson.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Whitpain Township Police Chief Kenneth Lawson announced a joint investigation into the homicide and arson, which occurred at 25 Township Line Road in the Blue Bell section of Whitpain Township.

On Thursday, May 4, shortly after 2 a.m., the Whitpain Township Police Department responded to a house fire at 25 Township Line Road.

When firefighters arrived, the single ranch style home was fully engulfed in flames.

After the fire was extinguished, a deceased male, identified as Won Woo Do, was located inside a bedroom of the house. The 56-year-old man was the only resident home at the time of the fire.

An autopsy performed at the Montgomery County Coroner's Office revealed that the victim died from multiple stab wounds. The manner of death was ruled homicide.
