Police: Man, 24, critical after being shot during birthday celebration

TIOGA (WTXF) - A 24-year-old man is critically injured after being shot during a birthday celebration in Tioga, according to police.

Shortly after midnight, officers responded to the 1600 block of West Luzerne Street, where the victim was celebrating his birthday with friends. Police say there was some kind of altercation, with people throwing trash at the victim's car and smashing its windshield.

Shots were fired into the vehicle, hitting the victim four times in the shoulder, back, chest and thigh.

The man was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
