Police: Man arrested after fatal domestic-related shooting in Allentown

Police say they have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of an Allentown woman.

It happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. Thursday on the 1900 block of 17th Street.

According to police, when they arrived they found a woman in front of a home suffering a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest and was pronounced dead.

Police say this incident appears to be domestic-related and there is no danger to the community. According to investigators, 32-year-old Matthew Jensen was taken into custody around 2:30 pm in Pohatcong Township, New Jersey. He will be charged with one count of criminal homicide.

The name of the victim will be released by the Lehigh County Coroner's Office after the next of kin has been notified.

The investigation is ongoing.
