Police: Man choked unconscious, robbed in Juniata Park
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are searching for the man they say is responsible for a violent robbery in Juniata Park.
The incident took place shortly before 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to police, a 21-year-old man was standing by his car at the Liberty gas station on East Hunting Park Avenue when the suspect approached him from behind. Surveillance footage shows the suspect choking the victim until he loses consciousness, then sifting through the victim's pockets.
The suspect allegedly stole the victim's wallet containing $300 and fled the area in a dark colored Dodge Challenger with a rear trunk spoiler.
Police describe the suspect as a black man between 20 and 30 years old with a thick beard and muscular build. The suspect was last seen wearing a light colored cap with a dark print on front, a dark colored t-shirt with a light print on the front and dark colored pants.
