Police: Man killed 6-month-old girl
LANDOVER, Md. - Prince George's County police arrested a man in connection with the death of a baby girl.
Police responded Jan. 6 to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue in Landover for the report of a 6-month-old who was not breathing. She died at the hospital Jan. 9. An autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force injuries to the baby's head and chest.
The suspect, 23-year-old Kareem Bryant of the 1400 block of 18th Street in Southeast D.C., admitted to causing the baby's injuries, police said. Bryant and the girl's mother were in a relationship.
The victim was identified as Mariah Tilghman.
Bryant is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse. He was arrested in D.C. on Thursday and is awaiting extradition to Prince George's County.
