Police: Man runs over robber

Philadelphia police say an alleged robber was struck by a driver in the city's Rhawnhurst neighborhood overnight Tuesday.

FOX 29's Dave Kinchen reports it happened at about 11:15 p.m. Monday near the Wells Fargo bank parking lot at Bustleton and Bleigh avenues.

Police say a man was mugged and forced to take several hundred dollars out of the ATM at gunpoint. According to investigators, the robber left the scene and so did the victim and that's when the victim was attacked again while attempting to get his ATM card. The driver got back in the truck with his wife and small child and took off. Police say the robber then stabbed the windshield with a knife before he was struck. According to authorities, the victim then took off in the truck.

Police say the driver will not be charged. The robber is currently in extremely critical condition a the hospital.
