Police: Man shot and killed in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WTXF) - Police are investigating following a shooting that left one man dead in North Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.

The incident took place around 1:45 a.m. on the 3000 block of North Bailey Street, where officers found a man in his early twenties lying in the middle of the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital and was pronounced dead just after 2 a.m.

The investigation is active and ongoing with the Homicide Unit.
