Police: Man struck by gunfire, dies in vehicle

WILMINGTON, Del. (WTXF) - Wilmington Police are investigating the death of a man found inside a car Monday morning.

Investigators responded to the 700 block of East 5th Street just before 7:30 a.m. May 7 on the report of an unresponsive man in a vehicle. Authorities say the initial report involved the car being struck by gunfire.

After the officers arrived, they discovered a 35-year-old man slumped over the steering wheel in the car. Authorities said the man appeared to have been struck by gunfire in the head.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Khalif Friend.
