Police: Masked robbers break into home of Temple students
NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Two Temple students are in shock after a horrifying ordeal. Just after 1am, masked gunmen forced their way into their off-campus home and terrorized them.
Police say it happened just after 1am in the 1400 block of Willington Street.
Two of the four students -- ages 22 and 23 -- living there were at home.
One of the victims told FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce they were watching TV in a bedroom when the door opened slowly and they saw a man with a gun.
Police say he "pointed a handgun at them, demanding their money and electronics." The students said they didn't have any money because they were students.
Then, he "demanded that they turn off their iCloud account and put all of the items into a backpack on the floor."
The second entered and told the victims to go to the living room. The first robber gave the gun to the second, who "made them sit on the couch."
Then the first searched bedrooms in the basement, stole unknown items, and got out "through the rear sliding door of the residence into the back yard and over the fence."
Police say the two apparently got in "through a rear kitchen window which was not locked."
The first suspect is described as 18-20 years old, 5'8" to 5'9" tall, and weighing 140 lbs. He was wearing black sweatpants, a black hooded sweat jacket, black Nike sneakers, black gloves with yellow on them, and a black half face mask.
The second suspect is described as 18-20 years old, 5'8" to 5'10" tall, and weighing 140 lbs. He was wearing similar clothing but with blue gloves and a black half face mask.
The victims said they were in shock the entire time. They lived in community awhile and felt comfortable there.
Now, they're shaken, scared and wondering why they were targeted.
