Police: Officer discharges weapon to stop driver from striking partner
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) Police say an officer discharged his weapon to stop a vehicle from striking his partner in the city's Feltonville section.
The incident happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police say they were investigating gunshots in the area of 100 E. Wyoming Street. Officers went in pursuit of a vehicle which stopped at 4800 D street. According to police, when officers exited their vehicle, the driver of the vehicle reversed the vehicle and then fled forward toward the officer, attempting to hit him.
Police say the officer discharged his weapon to stop the driver from hitting his partner There were no injuries to police or suspects in the vehicle. Police say three people were arrested and one suspect was tased and was transported to Episcopal Hospital by police.
