Police officer injured in police vehicle collision in South Philadelphia

One police officer was injured in a collision involving two police vehicles in South Philadelphia Sunday evening while responding to a call.

The incident occurred on the 1500 block of South 26 th Street at 7:00 p.m. as the officers converged on a scene where a suspect was said to be fleeing from a stolen vehicle.

One officer was injured but refused medical treatment at the time.

Both vehicles sustained damage and needed to be towed.

The suspect was eventually taken into custody.
