Police search for driver after man fatally struck by 2 cars in Bensalem
BENSALEM, Pa. (FOX 29) - Police in Bucks County are looking to track down a driver they say was involved in a deadly incident involving a pedestrian early Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred on Street Road near Olga Avenue around 5:30 a.m.
Officials say the pedestrian's light was red while he was walking in the crosswalk trying to get to the 7-Eleven. The driver was traveling east on Street Road with a green signal when they struck the pedestrian, according to police.
The man was then struck by a second driver in an SUV, who pulled over in the parking lot of First Stop Tobacco. That driver was seen exiting her vehicle, screaming and making a phone call before leaving the scene in her car.
FOX 29's Steve Keeley reports surveillance video showed multiple cars driving around the victim as he laid in the roadway before he was struck the second time. A third vehicle appears to strike the victim in the video as well, but the driver of that car remained on the scene.
Police have released surveillance photos of the SUV as they continue to search for the driver.
A second victim was taken to Torresdale Hospital in unknown condition after the first striking vehicle struck a nearby pole. Police have yet to identify the deceased.
