Police seek alleged package thief in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - In South Philadelphia, a woman makes a bold move to switch out some packages on someone else's doorstep and makes off with the stolen goods.

Police hope someone might recognize the woman. FOX 29's Bill Anderson reported live in the newsroom after speaking with neighbors on that street.

Back on April 11 , around 5:00 p.m. surveillance cameras captured the suspect in action on the 1900 block of South Camac Street.

Video shows the suspect walking down the street and approaching the front of a private residence and removing a package from the front door.

The suspect is then seen leaving the frame, and leaving behind items she was holding prior to removing packages from the home. A little later, the suspect returned with the open package, and attempted to retrieve the other items, but she was scared off by a neighbor and walked away.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact police.
