Police: Suspect in knifepoint robbery at SEPTA station in custody

SEPTA police say they took a man into custody who they believe is responsible for robbing a 70-year-old man at knifepoint in Juniata Park. So far, no charges have been filed.

The 70-year-old victim Wayne Griffin says he was gathering the free Metro Newspapers to hand them out when he was attacked.

"As soon as he got on he pushed our rider against the wall--held a large knife in his hand and demanded money," SEPTA Police Chief Thomas Nestel said.

According to SEPTA police, the suspect rifled through his victim's pockets and took his wallet with $5 inside.
