Police: Suspect sought in Tioga robbery, assault

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a assault and robbery in Tioga on Tuesday afternoon.

According to authorities the incident occured at the Citgo gas station on the 3000 block of Fox Street shortly after 1 p.m.

Police say when the suspect approached the counter to make a purchase, the store clerk confronted the man about a possible theft.

During their exchange the clerk came around the counter at which point the suspect punched the employee in the upper body.

The assailant then fled the store and left the scene in an unknown direction in a blue or gray colored Toyota sedan.

Police describe the attacker as a black man in his mid-to-late 20's with a thin build and a beard. Officials say the suspect was wearing a dark colored Adidas sweatsuit at the time of the attack.
