Police: Wilmington man critically injured in stabbing
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) -- Delaware State Police say they are investigating after an altercation on a bus led to a stabbing along a roadway in Wilmington.
Police said in a statement that the investigation began late Friday night when troopers responded to a reported stabbing. They found a 51-year-old Wilmington man with stab wounds to the body. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police say a preliminary investigation revealed the victim was a passenger on a public transit bus. The suspect got on board, and the two began arguing.
According to the statement, the victim exited the bus, the suspect followed him and stabbed him. The suspect then fled.
He is described as a heavyset white male, approximately 5 feet nine inches and 60 years old, with a full grey beard and mustache, wearing a red sweatshirt and jeans.
