Police: Woman critical after armed robbery of donut shop in Frankford

Police are investigating following an armed robbery and shooting in Frankford that left one woman critically injured.

Officials responded to Tasty Donut Shop on the 1500 block of Pratt Street just before 3:30 p.m. Once there, officers discovered a 38-year-old woman suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was transported to Aria-Jefferson Health Torresdale Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

Police describe the suspects as two black men of unknown age. One suspect has a darker complexion with dark eyes and a light beard. He was seen wearing a black coat and black hooded sweatshirt while carrying a black revolver handgun. The second suspect was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black mask and black gloves. Police say he was not brandishing a weapon.

The first suspect allegedly entered the store, jumped over a counter and held the cashier at gunpoint. He then allegedly shot the employee in the back as she attempted to flee out the back of the store.

The same suspect reportedly took a bucket containing several hundred dollars from underneath the counter before fleeing with the second suspect.

No arrests have been made, and no weapon has been recovered.
