Pregnant mother, unborn child killed in head-on crash with boxer in Hemet

A pregnant mother and her unborn child were killed in a head-on crash in Hemet involving a professional boxer suspected of driving while intoxicated, authorities said.

Marcos Forestal, 28, was taken into custody after a crash that killed Krystil Kincaid, 29, and her unborn child, of San Jacinto on Sunday, police said.

The accident was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the 500 block of N. Warren Road. Police said Forestal, a professional boxer, was allegedly speeding on Warren Road and crashed head-on into Kincaid's Chrysler.

The minivan was partially on fire when first responders arrived at the scene. They put out the flames and worked to rescue Kincaid, whose legs were pinned underneath the dashboard, according to a GoFundMe page set up for the 29-year-old mother.

"Firefighters used the 'Jaws of Life' to extricate the trapped woman from her vehicle and she was air-lifted to an area trauma center, where both she and her unborn child later died," the fundraising site stated.

Kincaid was eight months pregnant and left behind a husband and multiple children -- including an 11-year-old daughter and two sons, ages 8 and 4, according to the GoFundMe page.

Forestal was located at the scene of the crash and showed symptoms of alcohol intoxication, police said.

Forestal is a Cuban boxer who is the World Boxing Federation International Super Bantamweight champion, according to the website. After Sunday's crash, a man identified as Forestal said in a livestream video that he "had an accident," El Nuevo Herald reported.

He was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and eventually taken to jail.

Authorities initially arrested Forestal on suspicion of driving while intoxicated that resulted in major injuries. His charges were later upgraded to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

A pregnant mother and her unborn child were killed after an alleged drunk driver slams into her car. The pain her family is feeling was raw and real in a banning courtroom on Wednesday where the suspect pleaded not guilty.

From Phil Shuman:

Zach Kincaid took a deep breath and said, 'relationships are relationships, but I've never loved anyone as much as I loved her. We would've been married 12 years at the end of the month.'

This conversation took place at the Banning Justice Center in Riverside County, just minutes after he sat in court as the accused drunk driver that killed his pregnant wife pled not guilty to vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated charges.

Krystil Kincaid, 29, mother of 3, step mother to 1, and 8 months pregnant, was allegedly hit head on by a 18-year-old Burbank man named Marcos Forestal, a professional boxer.

Incredibly, he posted video to social media after the crash blaming Krystil for crossing the double yellow line and hitting him head on, but police say just the opposite happened.

In court today in chains and a red jumpsuit, he looked small and afraid. The large Kincaid family, all in court, is trying to stay strong.

Krystil will live on in organs they plan to harvest for donations. I'm told her 11-year-old daughter was at the hospital Wednesday, where the body was briefly kept alive by machines, to make a plaster cast of her mom's hand.
