Prosecutors: NJ police officer illegally searched databases

PASSAIC, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey police officer stands accused of illegally accessing law enforcement databases and sharing personal information she obtained from those searches.

Passaic County prosecutors say Passaic Sgt. Ana DeIntinis directed the unauthorized searches between April 8 and June 3. But they haven't disclosed further details on the allegations, whey the searches were done or said who received the information.

It wasn't known Tuesday if DeIntinis has retained an attorney. Passaic police declined comment on the allegations, referring questions to county prosecutors.
