Prosecutors: Philadelphia man advertised 16-year-old girl for sale online

A Philadelphia man has been charged with promoting the prostitution of a minor, officials announced Monday.

Twenty-six-year-old Preston Bell was arrested in Northfield on Tuesday, August 7, by the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force.

Prosecutors say Bell advertised a 16-year-old girl from Indonesia for sale on Backpage.com and transported her to and from 'dates.'

The State moved to detain Bell the day after he was charged, but he was released after a detention hearing.

The arrest stemmed from a five-month-long investigation.
