Report: Israel to Close Philadelphia Consulate

Israel's Foreign Ministry has announced plans to close its consulate in Philadelphia, as part of a cost-cutting move.

According to a Jerusalem Post report, the Israeli government had announced a similar closure two years ago, but put off plans due to pressure from the Jewish community and local politicians.

Israel has its embassy in Washington, as well as consulates in several other U.S. cities. The Philadelphia consulate is located at 1880 John F. Kennedy Blvd.
