Reward offered in case of dog left in suitcase

The Humane Society of the United States is now offering a reward for information leading to an arrest after the body of a decomposed dog was found in a suitcase in Chester.

The reward is worth up to $5,000.

A Humane Society officer was alerted to the suitcase, which was found near W. 2nd and Pusey Streets in Chester. According to the Delco SPCA, the dog's leg was sticking out of the suitcase.

The SPCA says the navy blue suitcase with Cayman Islands printed on the inside was torn from scratch marks, indicating the dog was likely alive when placed inside the suitcase. Further indication, the dog was alive is the dog's teeth clenched to the inner mesh of the suitcase, according to the SPCA.
