Ridge Avenue closed in East Falls after water main breaks

EAST FALLS (FOX 29) - Utility crews are responding to multiple water main breaks that shut down portions of Ridge Avenue early Friday morning.

Ridge Avenue was closed from Roosevelt Boulevard to Hunting Park Avenue after two water mains broke in the area around 4 a.m.

Water department crews were able to shut off the mains.

Residents were asked to move their cars off of Clearfield Street so crews can make repairs to the roadways in the coming days.

FOX 29's Bob Kelly recommends taking Kelly Drive to get around the closures. SEPTA Bus Routes 1, 61, and R have been detoured due to the closures.
