Robbery suspect shoots at police, 3 in custody

Philadelphia Police have arrested three teenage suspects following in incident that resulted in gunfire aimed at officers in Olney Friday morning.

Officers were investigating a robbery near East Luzerne Street and Lawndale Street.

Officers attempted to stop a Nissan truck that matched the description of the suspects' vehicle, when the suspects tried to take off in the car, leading to a short chase.

The suspects then fled the car on foot where they were chased by officers near Roosevelt Boulevard and North Front Street.

During the foot chase, police say one of the suspects fired upon the officers, before he was apprehended.

Chief Inspector Scott Small says officers did not return fire during the incident.

All three suspects, ages 17, 18 and 19, were taken into custody.

Officers were also working to see if the suspects may have been in possession of a second gun that was ditched during the chase.
