Soldier surprises sister at her middle school graduation
TAMPA, Fla. - A girl in Florida got an unexpected visit during her eighth-grade graduation.
Mayah Jaramillo was shaking hands with her teachers at her promotion ceremony when she shook the hand of someone she didn't expect to.
It was her brother Joel Jaramillo, who was home from basic training in the Air Force.
She gave him a huge hug and a little shove for catching her off guard.
"He told me that he wasn't coming and he told me that he got denied and I was like 'Oh OK.' So I was like 'Why did you do that?' Mayah said. "So I slapped him."
Mayah wasn't the only one caught by surprise.
Their dad didn't know Joel planned the impromptu visit either.
