South Brunswick officers as Santa helpers

Police officers in South Brunswick, New Jersey spent their own money to bring a happier holiday to those in need.

South Brunswick officers purchased gifts for 19 children, all living with their families in a motel. The officers delivered those gifts to the families Saturday.

"We see these families in the motel and know these are difficult times. We wanted to do more for them, so we pooled our money together to buy gifts and food for them", said Officer Christine Harris. Harris organized the gift drive.

Officers surprised the families at the motel. Along with presents for the kids, officers also brought food and drinks.

The South Brunswick Policemen's Benevolent Association Local 166 also donated four boxes of toys to Foster and Adoptive Family Services earlier in the week.
