Stolen Car Strikes Trolley on Gray's Avenue

A trolley was struck by a stolen car at 49th Street and Grays Avenue on Wednesday morning, leaving multiple injuries and a mangled car.

Police confirmed that the car, a white Hyundai Tucson, was stolen. While attempting to make a right onto Gray's Avenue, the car struck the trolley head-on. Both men in the car, one of whom was trapped and extracted, were taken to Presbyterian Hospital, where they are in extremely critical condition.

The Route 36 trolley, containing 27 people, was struck by the car. Passengers on the trolley have minor injuries but were taken by bus to Hahnemann and University of Pennsylvania Hospitals.
