Struggle in food store during attempted robbery

FELTONVILLE (WTXF) - Police are asking for help catching the man who tried to rob a food store in Feltonville on Christmas evening.

They say at about 5:40 pm Sunday, the man walked into the JV Food Market in the 4800 block of Gransback Street.

According to police, surveillance video shows him approaching a worker and demanding money, "while having his hand inside his pocket stating he was armed with a handgun."

After he couldn't get any money, he got away in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as about 5'3" tall. He had a beard, and was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
