Suspect, 19, charged in teen's murder in Mayfair
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police say a 19-year-old has been charged with murder in the shooting death of 14-year-old Ian Wilsey last week.
According to police, 19-year-old Samir Price turned himself in at the Homicide Unit on Tuesday. Authorities say he was arrested and charged with murder, robbery, VUFA and related offenses.
Ian Wilsey was shot last Monday night in the 6200 block of Brous Street in Mayfair. Neighbors watching the Eagles game heard the shots. According to police, the teen was shot three times in the chest.
Friend Frank Myers said the two attended Northeast High School together.
A 16-year-old friend with Wilsey at the time reportedly told police they were headed to a store when two men just walked up to them and crouched and shot.
Witnesses told police two men ran from the scene and into a silver car heading north.
Neighbors had said their area is well-kept, nice and quiet, so they were shocked. Many also had surveillance cameras, so police were hoping video would help them catch the killers.
