Suspect in custody after exchanging gunfire with Philadelphia police

PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - A man is in custody after police say he exchanged gunfire with police in South Philadelphia Thursday.

The incident occurred on the 2100 block of Taney Terrace just before 10:30 p.m.

Police say the suspect opened fire on officers and they returned fire during the incident.

Nobody was struck by gunfire during the exchange.

Investigators say they are now looking to see if the suspect is related to another shooting that happened earlier in the evening in the same area.
