Suspect in custody after shooting at University of Maryland Medical Center

Baltimore Police have identified a man suspected in a shooting outside of the University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore.

Police have charged 26-year-old Jamar Houghton with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and several firearm-related charges.

The shooting was reported around 7:15 a.m. in the 600 block of W. Redwood Street. Authorities say they located a 24-year-old man with gunshot wounds at the location. He was hospitalized for his injuries.

The shooting is still under investigation at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
