Suspect rings doorbell, sucker-punches Valrico resident

Home surveillance video shows a man sucker-punch a Valrico resident at his front door, then run away as others inside the home come to his defense. Now, deputies are hoping the clear video leads to an arrest.

The video, taken Saturday afternoon, shows the unidentified man walk up to the front door of the home on Folklore Drive in Valrico. Deputies say he was looking for someone who did not actually live there.

But as the resident was trying to corral two dogs who had run out the door, the man - wearing brass knuckles - suddenly punched him in the face, the punched him again moments later.

As the resident reels from his injuries two other people come from inside the house to ward off the assailant. He can be seen running off as one of the men chase after him. Deputies say he hopped into the passenger seat of a "silver small four-door vehicle" and sped off.

Deputies are asking for information about the man's identity. He is described as:
- Black male with a light complexion
- 6-foot 1-inch tall and about 200 pounds
- Muscular build
- Tattoo on right bicep
- Wearing blue baseball hat, blue t-shirt, light blue jeans, blue athletic shoes
