Suspect sought in North Philly robberies, shootings

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police are looking for a suspect they believe was involved in a number of robberies, and a shooting in North Philadelphia.

The first incident occurred back on November 4 th around 5:00 p.m. at a grocery store on the 2000 block of North Gratz Street.

Police say the suspect approached the counter armed with a black revolver, and demanding money. During the incident, police say a 45-year-old customer tried to stop the robbery, when the suspect turned and shot the man once in the leg.

The suspect took an unknown amount of cash, and fled in an unknown direction. The victim was treated for his injury.

The second incident occurred on November 5 th at a store on the 2200 block of North 16 th Street. Police say the suspect entered the store and pointed a handgun through the Plexiglas opening, and fired one round, demanding money. The suspect fled with an unknown amount of cash and was last seen heading South on 16 th Street.

Later on November 5 th , police say a suspect entered a mini-market on the 2000 block of North 16 th Street armed with a handgun and demanding money. The clerk wrestled the suspect for the gun, and the suspect fled the store in an unknown direction.

Police have described the suspect as a black male standing 5'9"- 5'10" with a thin build, brown complexion, and a beard with a mustache.
