Suspect sought in violent bike-jacking in Center City

Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with an assault and robbery on Dec. 14.

Authorities say the suspect ordered a 14-year-old victim to get off of his bike in the concourse of the SEPTA station on the 200 block of South Broad Street. When the victim refused, the suspect hit the juvenile several times in the head with a handgun. The suspect then allegedly pointed the gun at the victim's chest and threatened him.

Police say the assailant took the victims bike and exited the SEPTA station onto Spruce Street.

The victim sustained small lacerations on the side of his head.

Authorities say the suspect is a black man between 18 and 19 years old with a heavy build. At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a gray and black jacket, black pants, and a black mask.
