Suspected DUI driver smashes into over 2 dozen vehicles in Philly

A man is in custody after hitting more than two dozen parked cars in Northeast Philadelphia. The incident early Sunday morning, starting in Oxford Circle.

Neighbors saw an SUV slam into one car after the next, moving forward even after losing a front wheel. The driver made it another twelve to fifteen blocks.

The last seconds of his ride were caught on a neighbor's video camera in an alley near Kindred Street, after the car struck a fence and wouldn't move anymore.

"After he realized that he could not move any farther, he opened the door and leaped out and ran," witness John Fello told FOX 29.

Police and neighbors caught the man a block away.

The suspect has since been identified as 39-year-old Bispo Alvair. He has been charged with driving under the influence and related offenses.
