Suspected ‘Grinch' steals decorations from homes in Egg Harbor Township
EGG HARBOR, N.J. (WTXF) - The Christmas Spirit has been slight dimmed in Egg Harbor Township as police say someone has been stealing decorations at a 'Grinch-like' pace.
Anthony Palmeri and his seven-year-old son spent a good few days hanging holiday decorations at their home. Now, they're fuming that someone has been stealing decorations from homes all over town.
"It doesn't make any sense it's horrible it definitely takes away the Christmas spirit," Palmeri explained.
Egg Harbor Township police say there have been 20 thefts of Christmas decorations reported all over the township in the last week.
Police released a picture of the masked decoration thief. Apparently, he was so busy stealing. He left his bike behind at one of the crime scenes.
To get back some of that Christmas cheer. FOX 29's Chris O'Connell went across town to Storybook Land, where there is snow falling, a million lights and enough decorations for the whole town.
That's also where Chris enlisted help from the big guy himself… Santa.
"Guess who is on the naughty list?" Santa said of the situation.
Police have no idea what the person is doing with the decorations. However, they say if that suspect wants his bike back, they can get it at the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.
