Suspects sought after 7 vehicles stolen in New Castle
NEW CASTLE, Del. (WTXF) - Police are investigating an alleged break-in at a New Castle-area cargo business that resulted in multiple vehicles being stolen.
It happened at Trans Cargo on Pigeon Point Road around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Officials say the suspects gained entry into the secured lot, where they were able to access seven vehicles. The suspects then allegedly used one of the vehicles to drive through the perimeter fence, creating an opening through which the other six vehicles exited.
Police say the vehicle used to breach the fence became disabled and was recovered unoccupied at the scene. Two of the other vehicles were recovered nearby, and three of the stolen vehicles were recovered in Philadelphia, all unoccupied. Only one vehicle remains unaccounted for.
There are no suspect descriptions or surveillance video available at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding the alleged incident is asked to contact Det. Timmons at 302-365-8434.
