Suspects sought in shootout outside West Oak Lane day care

Police are asking for the public's help locating two suspects wanted in connection with a West Oak Lane shooting.

The incident occurred just after 1:30 p.m. Monday on the 6500 block of Beechwood Street.

Surveillance video captured two unknown men shooting at each other. No individuals were injured, but several vehicles were struck by gunfire.

What sparked the gunfire remains unclear.

Police say the first suspect fled the area on foot toward the 6500 block of North 21st Street. He is described as a black man in his mid- to late-20s with a medium build and beard. He was seen wearing a tan short-sleeve shirt and pants. He also has tattoos on his entire right arm.

The second suspect is described as a black man with a stocky build. He was seen wearing a bright green hooded sweatshirt with dark colored pants.
