Teen Charged in Connection With Shot Fired Inside School

A 16-year old student has been charged in connection with a gun going off at Ben Franklin High School.

Just before noon Friday police say someone fired a gunshot inside the school forcing it to go on lockdown.

Police say they found a .45 caliber shell casing in the stairwell and a gun was recovered shortly after.

FOX 29 cameras were there yesterday when police took several students away in handcuffs, as police say 5 students were taken in for questioning.

Saturday, investigators revelaed there was a physical altercation in the hallway on the fourth floor of the school. The shot was fired shortly after the altercation.

Police then obtained a search warrant to search a teenage boys home, where he was subsequently taken into custody following the search around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

No one was hurt.
