Teenager injured after shooting in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are investigating after a teenager was shot in West Philadelphia overnight.

Police raced the 15-year-old to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia after the teen was allegedly shot in the hand and knee.

The incident started when University of Pennsylvania police saw a speeding van and pulled it over. Inside the van was the injured teen.

Police say the teen also suffered a shattered knee, though he is listed in stable condition.

This is an ongoing investigation.
