Terrible car crash on Route 1 leaves one man in grave condition

FALLS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WTXF) - A man reportedly ejected from his vehicle on Route 1 southbound is in grave condition.

Falls Township police reported to a vehicle accident just before noon on Friday where the driver had been ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle continued into a wooded area.

The victim is a 27-year-old man from the Levittown area and was taken to St. Mary's Trauma Center.

Police say no one else was in the vehicle and no other cars were involved. Traffic on Route 1 was reportedly backed up into New Jersey and all south bound traffic had to be turned around the wrong way until they could exit the highway. This took about two hours.

Officials say Route 1 southbound will be closed from Bridge Street to Oxford Valley Road until Friday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. so officers can gather evidence.
