The Roots Get a Local Music Honor

Philly's legendary Roots received a special honor Monday: They received induction into the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame on the Avenue of the Arts.

The plaque describes the group as "The legendary multi-Grammy-winning hip hop band, curators of culture, music and the arts." Those in attendance included Jimmy Fallon and D'Angelo.

The Roots talked to Fox29's Quincy Harris about the honor.

Other members of the Class of 2015 include Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel, Billie Holiday, Cinderella, The Trammps, Andrea McArdle, and WOGL's Harvey Holiday.
